Vicki Adams Assimilation Coordinator
Vicki loves the amazing people that she is blessed to work with in her position at FBC. She also has fun teaching a 5th grade Bible Fellowship class on Sunday mornings.
Her hobbies include reading, paper crafting, traveling, and hiking. Vicki and her husband Ray have two grown daughters—Jessica in Ann Arbor, MI, and Amanda in Chapel Hill, NC.
Julie Arnold Receptionist
Julie holds a law degree from the University of Tennessee, and her undergraduate degree includes a double major in political science and speech & theater. Her husband Steve is an independent financial planner and works part-time as a teacher for Concord Christian School High School. Their three kids—Leslie (10th grade), Josh (8th grade), and Hope (4th grade)—attend CCS, and Julie is happy that she gets to see them on campus throughout the day! She loves serving and being around the staff and members at FBC because they are sweet, fun, Godly people.
Julie has been part of Precepts Bible Studies for 10 years. Her other interests include music: flute, piccolo, and she has recently taken up penny whistles! She also loves acting and helps out occasionally in the 4Kids Theater on Sunday mornings, and in the ConcordQuest production each year.
One of Julie’s greatest passions is the Concord Performing Arts Academy, which provides music, dance, and drama lessons in a Christian atmosphere. Julie and her husband Steve serve as the directors of CPAA.
John Avant Senior Pastor
Honoring the past, and thankful for the present, we look with bold anticipation to the future. God has brought, through miraculous leading, our church to her next Pastor, Dr. John Avant. Through Dr. Avant's leadership, we believe the power of God (through His Word, His Gospel and bold heartfelt worship), will be seen in this generation and generation to come.
A published author, he has written If God Were Real, Authentic Power, The Passion Promise, and co-authored Revival among other works. John and his wife Donna are proud parents to Matthew & Christi Avant Watson, Joseph & Amy Avant Daniel and Trey & Brooke Procell Avant.

Rose Barker Administrative Assistant to CCS Headmaster
Rose has been a part of the Concord Christian School team since September 2005. She enjoys serving with the many teachers and staff who are passionate to share Christ with the students. She is so excited to see the Lord work in the lives of our students and families.
Rose graduated from Kent State University with a B.S. in Medical Technology. She and her husband Steve moved to Knoxville in 1984 to start a medical mobile company. They have two adult children who live in Nashville and a “granddog,” Baer.
In her spare time Rose enjoys reading historical fiction and gardening, but her real passion is missions. She and her husband, Steve, lead the church’s efforts to mobilize our members to go and share in our adopted city, Atlantis.
Amy Barnett Campus Operations Manager
Amy enjoys getting to work with all of the various ministries of the church. She and her husband Mike have twins, and their favorite pet is their pug, Pugslee.
Amy has lived in Knoxville all her life and is a graduate of Halls High School. She also attended Cumberland College. In her spare time she enjoys reading, photography, and cooking.

Malinda holds a B.S. in Business Office Administration from the University of Tennessee. She enjoys serving in her position at FBC, where she has the privilege of seeing the Lord work in the lives of people each week.
She and her husband Sam have two sons, two daughters-in-law, four grandsons, and they will soon have two granddaughters!
Charles Burris Campus Operations Coordinator
Charles has been on staff at FBC since 2008. He attended Farragut High School but graduated from Bradley Central High in Cleveland, TN. After continuing his education and professional career in Cleveland, he moved back to Knoxville and joined FBC in 2005.
Charles and his wife, Denise, have four children (Sommer, Chasity, Morgan, and Chris). He enjoys spending time with family, especially at the beach. He feels very honored and humbled to have the opportunity to serve Christ at FBC, and he looks forward to seeing all the amazing things God has in store for the Church and himself.
