First Baptist Concord is honored to worship, fellowship and serve with those who have special needs! Our Special Needs Ministries enable us to build meaningful and fruitful relationships with people who have unique walks with Christ because of the physical challenges they face.
We’re a growing, thriving group, and we’ve got the flexibility to meet a wide range of special needs, so please visit us soon!
Weekly events for the Sonshine Class include:
- Sunday School class: 9 AM
- Sunday Morning Worship Service: 10:45 AM
- Wednesday Evening: 6-7:15 PM
Family members and caregivers are welcome to participate in these events, but you’re also invited to let us care for your special needs individual while you attend other classes offered in the church.
Helping Hands is a weekday ministry for special needs adults who have graduated from high school.
- Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday: 9:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Our group performs various tasks for Concord, other churches and businesses in the community... including computer work, cooking, mail-outs, assembling newsletters, replenishing supplies in the Worship Center and providing information to homebound members.
Members of our group are frequently paired with Concord Christian School students for fellowship and service. This partnership has provided new friendships and broader perspectives for those involved in Helping Hands and CCS.
Helping Hands occasionally offers special outings on Monday or Friday. On these days our group may enjoy shopping trips, special lunches, movies, picnics or trips to various local amusements.
Our new Sonshine Kids Sunday School class at Concord has started! Sonshine Kids is primarily for elementary aged children, allowing parents the chance to worship together while their children are loved and taught.
- Sunday School class: 10:45 AM in E105
