Hope and Help for Parents

Practical, biblical encouragement and dialogue about the difficult issues of parenting. There will be a new topic each week including dealing with digital media, talking about sex with your children, managing emotions, discipline, how to teach the Word of God to your family, raising the difficult child and more. Upcoming classes this month:

January 9: Hope for the Next Year of Parenting - led by Pastor of Care & Counseling, Victor Lee. We'll look at Philippians 3:12-17 and the encouragement and perspective there about raising your children.

January 16: The Parent as Pastor: Partnering with Jesus in Raising Your Children - led by Victor Lee. God is the perfect father. Jesus is the perfect man. The Holy Spirit lives in you so they can flow through you. We have a great Helper in parenting - let's talk about how that works!

January 23: The Battle of Good vs. Best - led by Victor Lee. If you feel like you're losing, this is probably where. If you want to win, here is where to start! Let's talk about how to identify the 'best' and how to stand firm, with grace, when you re-draw the lines.

January 30: Screen Time/Scream Time - led by Dr. Sylvia Hart Frejd of the Concord Counseling team. Dr. Hart is a leading expert on digital media and its effect on our culture. One of the most frustrating and confusing challenges of parenting is managing the "screens" your children see, from iPads/tablets to smart phones to old-fashioned TV. Let's start a conversation about the risks, the rewards and how to manage them.
